Description

Although coffee cultivation started relatively late in Kenya, the industry has earned a superb reputation. From the very beginning of production, Kenyan coffee has been recognized for its high quality, complex flavors and meticulous processing methods. For example, the country has developed a rigorous sorting standard when selecting drupes.

SL-28 and SL-34 are the most common varieties in most plantations. Their root structures allow these types of plants to acquire water even in dry environments and in the absence of irrigation. These varieties also have higher yields and have been found to be more resistant to disease.
