Description
Brazil is the largest coffee producer in the world, accounting for approximately 40% of global supply. Brazil's significant share of the world’s production means that any fluctuation in the size of the country's annual harvest has an impact on prices worldwide.
The most prolific growing regions are Espirito Santo, San Paolo, Minas Gerais and Bahia. Thanks to the orographic characteristics of the territory, only drupes that have reached perfect ripeness are selected during harvest, an especially valuable trait for producers oriented towards specialties.
Over the past 30 years, consistent effort has gone into making the supply chain more socially equitable. All parties involved in the coffee trade contribute to this end, fully supporting the industry guidelines and overseeing the implementation of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
